Academic Support (iSchool)

The iSchool Academic Support Center will be at it's permanent location in Room 4020 of 614 E. Daniel. Tutoring services are open to all iSchool students and students enrolled in iSchool courses. Undergraduate and graduate tutors will be able to assist with all iSchool courses though their emphasis will be on: IS 101, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, 407 and 430.
Tutoring is offered on a first come, first-serve basis during open hours.
To "get in line", simply login to our Queue: https://go.ischool.illinois.edu/AcademicCenterQueue .
Click “new question” tab and enter your name, net ID, question topic, and location (Zoom or in-person). A tutor will then let you know when they are available to meet with you.

iSchool Writing Resources: is the in-house writing support service for students at the iSchool. We are here to help you with your writing and help you feel more comfortable and confident in your skills. The writing consultants are not professors or evaluators. We simply know the struggles of graduate-level writing and want to help you learn how to succeed and improve your writing skills. The iSchool writing consultants are here to help you with every step of the writing process by providing an inclusive and collaborative learning environment.
Academic Support (Campus Tutoring)
The Writers Workshop: Provides writing support to students, including individual consultations, workshops, and resources. Students are encouraged to utilize this resource for all writing assignments and papers, as well as professional writing (cover letters, applications, scholarships, etc.).
Office of Minority Student Affairs (OMSA): OMSA offers 5 academic services, including tutoring, review sessions, study skills workshops, supplemental instruction, and structured study groups. Psychology Psi Chi Honorary Society: Provides free tutoring services for students enrolled in psychology courses.
Mathematics: Free tutoring for courses and also available paid tutors.
Economics Tutoring: Student tutors are available for general assistance on economics courses or economics related questions, primarily for ECON 102, 103, 202, 203, 302 and 303 (some of the 400s). There is also tutoring available for MATH 220/221 and MATH 231. Students should visit their Instructors or TAs with questions specific to classes, such as due dates, tests, etc. (most Econ classes have numerous TA Office hours). Chemistry Learning Center (CLC): The Department of Chemistry provides free walk-in tutoring services and maintains a list of private chemistry tutors available for hire here. Additional online tutorials.
MCB Learning Center: Provides a space for students to meet with any available MCB 100, 150/151, 250/251, 252/253, and 354 TA during their office hours. Online videos and resources also available.
History Tutoring: Phi Alpha Theta offers writing help as well as general topic and class specific tutoring. If interested visit the website.
Center for Academic Resources in Engineering (CARE): Assistance on many courses with an engineering-focus students take in their first four semesters (MATH, PHYS, CS). Please see the CARE Tutoring Schedule for class availability.
Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) Tutoring Program: The DIA provides individual tutoring and study hall hours to all student athletes. Visit their website for more information and resources.
Any student who has been diagnosed with a learning disability may utilize the services of the Disability Resrouces and Education Services Department (DRES). DRES students have access to academic coaching (for organization, time management, structure, prioritizing, and motivation), group therapy, and individual therapy appointments at no additional cost. Statistical Software & Qualitative Programs Workshops at CITL: They conduct short evening workshops on how to use statistical software, qualitative programs, and questionnaire design each semester.

The University of Illinois has contracted with LinkedIn to provide members of the University of Illinois with access to over 1,200 online courses provided by LinkedIn Learning. Access is available today to all students, faculty and staff and titles are broken down into manageable segments to accommodate busy schedules. These video based tutorials are taught by industry experts and available 24/7 for convenient, self-paced learning.
